Fall Back this Weekend

Hope everyone had an awesome Halloween (Joanna Thompson killed it yesterday)!

DST ends Sunday morning at 2:00 A.M. so don't forget to change your microwave and oven clocks accordingly and get your Fantasy Football lineups set in time.

Also, here are three other important things you should know: 1. Is Deadspin dead? Probably not, but the entirety of the staff resigned in the last few days over new editorial standards that would have limited what the sports blog could write about. The sports hub wrote on a variety of subjects - from pop culture to politics - and often had its non-sports posts outperform their sports content. All that came to an end and the mass exodus began with the firing of Editor-in-Chief Barry Petchesky. "Deadspin has for years been a home for journalists who took no prisoners in the world of sports and beyond. Yet now its new corporate overlords at G/O Media are dismantling this razor-edged fulcrum of athletic dissent like a buzzard chewing the gristle off the last bone ... [Paul Maidment] ordered the crack staff to stop straying into politics, food, or other assorted ephemera and stick to sports. 'Where such subjects touch on sports, they are fair game for Deadspin. Where they do not, they are not,' the instantly infamous memo stated." The Nation via Significant Digits 2. Google continues its data grab. Or, an alternate lead in is "Google is going to acquire Fitbit for over $2 billion." FitBit will help boost Google's presence in the wearable markets, where Apple just posted a 54% increase in earnings for their own wearable products. "'With Google's resources and global platform,' says Fitbit CEO James Park, "Fitbit will be able to accelerate innovation in the wearables category, scale faster and make health even more accessible." Osterloh adds that the deal is an "opportunity to invest even more in Wear OS, as well as introduce Made by Google wearable devices." Wear OS' Sameer Samat says that the pair will mash Fitbit's hardware and Google's software smarts together." Engadget 3. Did you know most of the best food in Atlanta can be found on Buford Highway? This stretch of Atlanta is home to all sorts of cultural cuisines, traditional and fusion, and is always worth consideration when thinking about where to eat (I live in East Cobb but will never hesitate to drive to Buford Highway to get La Mei Zi for Chinese food [plus it's BYOB]). And now Atlanta Magazine has released a guide to help you on your journey. 24 Hours on Buford Highway takes you through breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus late night eats and desserts. Check it out here and then go this weekend. The weather's perfect for it. New from Marketing Looking for talking points with customers and prospects?
