Get Moving with the April Movement Challenge!

In case you missed the email, the Employment Brand Team is running an April Activity contest. If you signed up, make sure you're getting your 30 minutes a day in and logging it here! And here are three other things you should know: 1. Is there a goldmine in app development? IPhone users spent 38% more on apps this year than last, with the average user spending $138 on apps in 2020. And according to Sensor Tower, the firm that released these findings, that's only going to increase this year. Throughout 2020, consumers turned to iPhone apps for work, school, entertainment, shopping and more, driving per-user spending to a new record and the greatest annual growth since 2016, when it had then popped by 42% year over year. Sensor Tower tells TechCrunch it expects the trend of increased consumer spend to continue in 2021, when it projects consumer spend per active iPhone in the U.S. to reach an average of $180. TechCrunch 2. The Amazon effect. Amazon has spread its tentacles everywhere, launching products in markets in an attempt to drive profitability. But what's fast becoming its most profitable avenue? Ads. This is a jarring stat. Amazon’s advertising business brought in $20B in 2020, which is more than the sales of Snap, Twitter, and Pinterest… combined. While Amazon bundles its ad business under the category of “other,” leading tech analyst Benedict Evans teased out the number and shows it has doubled in just the past 2 years. The Hustle 3. Congratulations! Fynn Glover became a new father last weekend, and we wanted to send our well wishes to him, mom, and Baby Boy Glover!
