Gift Pickup and Meditation Next Week

If you haven't yet made arrangements to get your Springbot Holiday Gift, you have another chance on Tuesday. If you are planning on picking it up please make sure you RSVP so Joanna knows to have it ready. Do not show up without RSVPing "Yes." And don't forget that we have another Springfit next Thursday at 4pm. Join Fatima Farmer from SoulBeautyChat for a 30-minute beginner-friendly meditation session. And here are three other things you should know: 1. Joes vs. the Hedge Fund. Deeply invested in the drama around Gamestop on Wall Street while at the same time being utterly confused about what's going on? The New York Times has a good explainer here. 2. Zuckerberg looking out for the little guy? Probably not entirely, but after Apple announced upcoming changes to its Privacy Policy, Zuckerberg got heated - restating the damage it'll do to small businesses. Zuck identified Apple as one of Facebook’s “biggest competitors” -- and accused the company of using its hardware dominance to unfairly push services like iMessage (which he described as a “linchpin” of Apple’s ecosystem). He also reiterated his stance that Apple’s upcoming privacy updates -- which require users to opt in to data collection -- will make it harder for small businesses to reach customers. Translation: The update will make it harder for Facebook to make bank. The Hustle 3. More vaccines for Georgia. After saying the state was running low on vaccinations, Gov. Kemp announced that he's worked with the Biden administration to secure an increase of 25,000 doses a week going forward to its original allotment (moving from 120,000 to 145,000 vaccines). In a press conference Tuesday morning, Gov. Kemp said Georgia will be ready for the increase. Through executive order, Kemp said he plans to expand the number of health care workers who can administer shots. The state would also work with counties to make sure resources are in place to handle demand for scheduling appointments. 11Alive
