Tomorrow is Your LAST DAY for Benefits

If you haven't enrolled in your benefits yet, you have until tomorrow to get that taken care of. If you have any questions, please reach out to Amanda Newby. And here are three more important things you should know: 1. Wash your hands. It seems weird that it takes a pandemic for people to do this, but here we are. The CDC recommends washing your hands for 20 seconds, and Atlanta Magazine has nine songs to help you count. "If you can sing the chorus of "Ms. Jackson," you're washing your hands for long enough." Atlanta Magazine 2. What's the next big thing in mobile device marketing? Probably push notification ads. In the latest iOS update, Apple is allowing apps to send marketing notifications to their users if those users have opted into receiving them. "Push Notifications must not be required for the app to function, and should not be used to send sensitive personal or confidential information. Push Notifications should not be used for promotions or direct marketing purposes unless customers have explicitly opted in to receive them via consent language displayed in your app’s UI, and you provide a method in your app for a user to opt out from receiving such messages." Mashable 3.  Alexa's got some new skills. Everyone's favorite cooking timer has been updated to be a more versatile information provider, ready to give owners severe weather alerts and traffic conditions, or NBA highlights and election updates. "With these new skills -- particularly the traffic and weather ones -- Alexa could become an even more convenient way to get through your day. The NBA and election news can also help get you up to speed quickly. It's up to the public if that convenience is worth the risk of less privacy." Engadget

Travis Wheeler Mind Edit Here's an important PSA about Recycling :) As a general rule of thumb, a recycling bin IS NOT a trash bin. Many of you may have listened to Duncan's Ted Talk on recycling. If you missed this and would like to hear it, please contact Duncan. DO RECYCLE Empty Paper Towel Roll Paper Clean Water Bottles Clean Cans Clean Glass Bottles Clean Cardboard Newspapers DON'T CYCLE Mini Moos Coffee Creamers Keurig Cups Wet Paper Towels Pizza Boxes Food, of ANY kind Foam containers Food containers If there is anything specific you would like information on, please contact Duncan or Manon. - Your Green Group Happy Birthday!
